The Civic Betterment Committee (CBC) will be hosting its Town Hall Meeting, a vital event where local candidates for various positions will share their visions, answer questions, and engage with the public. This town hall is an essential part of the civic process, giving voters the chance to hear directly from candidates and make informed decisions while casting their votes for CBC's slate of candidates to run in the spring Consolidated Election.

The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn and Wheaton will host a Community meeting on Mis/Disinformation Awareness, featuring Barbara Laimins, Co-Chair of the Mis/Disinformation Task Force of the League of Women Voters of Illinois.  Barbara’s discussion will focus on the spread of mis/disinformation, its impact on voters' ability to discern fact from falsehood, and the importance of making informed decisions as we approach the upcoming Presidential election.

Virtual Only. Does the First Amendment allow U.S. government officials to intervene and prevent the spread of misinformation and disinformation on social media platforms? The U.S. Supreme Court recently had an opportunity to rule on this question. Instead, they declined to issue decisions in two cases, punting them back to officials in Texas and Florida.
