Statement on usage of LWVGE Candidate Forum VIDEOS.

The League of Women Voters’ primary purpose is to encourage the informed and active participation of voters in our government. The League prides itself on being a nonpartisan source of voter information. Our League candidate forums are one of the most important elements of our voter education program.

It is the League’s policy that any partisan political organization must seek permission to use the video for promotional purposes. All candidates sign ground rules agreeing to this condition prior to participating in a candidate forum.

If a candidate or political organization would like permission to utilize the recording in its entirety on their website or in social media, please email info@lwvge.org. The recording may not be edited in any way.  If permission to utilize the video is granted, disclaimer verbiage will be provided. Given the League’s nonpartisan stance, permission will not be granted for the forum video to be used within paid political advertising. Videos approved by the LWVGE will be clearly labeled on the social page or website with a disclaimer that confirms the non-partisan status of the League of Women Voters.

The League is proud to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government—continually working on vital issues of concern to members and the public.
