May 3, 2024--Glen Ellyn, Illinois – The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn ( LWVGE) awarded prizes to high school students at Glenbard West and South for the 2nd Annual Charlotte Swett Walter Democracy Challenge Award. 2023 inaugural Charlotte Swett Walter Democracy Challenge Awards were given to Emily Puchalski, Glenbard South Junior for “ Democracy- Fragile Like Glass” and to Angie Abraham, Glenbard West sophomore for “ Every Voice Matters”. This Award is named after long time LWVGE member Charlotte Swett Walter.
Awards presented April 2024 at the Annual Meeting. Glen Ellyn, Illinois--Since the year 2000, the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn (LWVGE) has recognized outstanding volunteer efforts from among its hundreds of members with an annual awards program. Selected by committee from nominations submitted by the members, the most recent awards were bestowed upon the recipient during the LWVGE’s 2023-24 annual meeting.
