Defend Democracy Drop In
This is a brand new event for members and guests to engage in defending democracy! In our first ‘drop in’ we will:
Hear about purpose of the new group and LWV guidelines for engaging in advocacy and/or lobbying on important issues.
Take action on an LWVIL Action Alert to ensure IL legislature sunsets the Invest in Kids Act. There will be multiple options for participants to get involved - calling and emailing state senator and/or representatives and Governor Pritzker’s office to urge them not to extend the Act. Guidance will be provided to those who want to post op-ed written by LWVIL president on their own social media about this issue.
Action on money in politics and judicial ethics.
