January. 6, 2022, marks one year since the violent insurrection of our Capitol. This was the start of ongoing attacks on our democracy throughout the year resulting in many states passing laws that make it harder to vote. On Jan. 6, we will come together to build community, condemn the actions from the insurrection, and learn what we can do to help pass key voting rights legislation.
There will be speakers starting at 4:30 marking the occasion and informing us about ways to take action. The public is welcome to join this peaceful, non-partisan vigil which will be held at the entrance to the Civic Center on Duane Street in downtown Glen Ellyn.
